Modern weather apps throw a lot of numbers at you. Here is what the most important ones actually mean for your day.

UV Index

0-2 is low. 3-5 is moderate — sunscreen helps. 6-7 is high. 8-10 is very high — seek shade 10am-4pm. 11+ is extreme — avoid midday sun.

Wind speed

Below 10 km/h is calm. 10-30 is breezy. 30-50 is windy — cycling gets hard. Above 50 is dangerous for umbrellas and small branches.

Celsius to Fahrenheit: Quick Mental Math & Exact Formula

Traveling or baking in a different unit system? Here are two ways to convert temperature depending on how precise you need to be.

Method 1: Fast estimate (good for travel)

°F ≈ (°C × 2) + 30

Double the Celsius value and add 30. This gives you a rough Fahrenheit temperature within a few degrees. 20°C → about 70°F (actual is 68°F).

Method 2: Exact formula (for cooking, science)

°F = (°C × 9/5) + 32

Multiply by 1.8 and add 32. To go the other way: subtract 32, then multiply by 5/9.
